Maria Tziakou, Anna Kourkouna, Maria Karioti
The proposal shows an elevated path in the old port of Limassol that connects with the existing elevated path. The visitors can access the new path through the entrances of the port, aiming this way to highlight where the port begins but also provide the user to experience the port in a different way, providing him with panoramic views of the site. The elevated structure allows the free circulation underneath without disturbing the existing site.
The new path is enfolded by a type of mesh that allows the vegetation to become part of the structure and give a touch of greenery to the overall site.
As an addition a bridge is proposed that will connect the two edges of the port. In the new bridge a variation of levels is used but also a play with mass and void allowing a more playful experience and also promotes to the user the interaction with the main element, the water.
Also a change to the landscape of the ground is made in order to signal the beggining of the port, greenery, fences, and elements of water are added to achieve this result.
